The move to 46 Eagle Wharf Road

At the end of June 2001 MoLAS moved to new purpose-built offices next to the Regent's Canal at 46 Eagle Wharf Road, London, N1, only a mile north of the City, between Old Street and the Angel. MoLAS took on the role of developer, commissioning the 'new build' on top of the Museum's existing warehouse which holds the London Archaeological Archive and Research Centre (LAARC), our sister organisation the Museum of London Specialist Services, and the Museum of London's social history collections. Bringing all of these people and objects under one roof represents a tremendous advance in our ability to do more and better integrated work and to realise the potential of London's enormously rich archaeological resource.
